space invedares essays BOOK REVIEW BY EITAN PEER Once again, Dorothy Woolfolk has outdone herself. In this magnificent book, another in the series of the Donna Rockford Mystery books, The author finds yet a new way to thrill and excite the reader. I couldnt stop reading because of the suspense. The story begins with peculiar events that happened in Bayport. No one knows the identity of a person that had wrecked a statue in the town hall, who painted a swastika in a familys door, or who set a baby carriage on fire. Meanwhile, we learn about the characters; Donna Rockford, a university student that is known for helping the Philadelphia Police in solving murder cases; Abbey Rockford, Donnas sister, who is graduating from Bayport High; and Nancy Gibson, the daughter of a U.S senator. On a hot night, after having a cookout on the beach near Nancy Gibsons home, she is found dead on a bulwark. A bruise on the back of Nancys head suggests she didnt drown. She was murdered! Almost Every character has a motive. Most of them envied her social status. On the one hand, she had a handsome boyfriend, which meant she was envied by other girls. On the other hand, girlfriends of other men envied her because many of them admired her. This fact keeps the reader puzzled about the identity of the killer. The story continues with Donna Rockfords investigation of the murder. Finally, she comes up with a plan. After looking for enough clues to solve the mystery, she lures the killer, and traps him. If you want to know who the killer is you will have to read the book yourselves! In conclusion, I think this is a great book to pass time with. I like referring to this kind of books as Flight books - books that are written in a simple manner, and are suitable for reading in a flight. I hope the next books ...

Academic, Personal Management, and Teamwork Skills
These are probably the most important skills you have to get, because nowadays employers are looking for people with best academically background, because they know that a better prepared employee can give better answers at the time of working, but of course, as a worker you must be prepared for every kind of situation, because you never know what can happen, and I say this on the Academic Skills because one of these skills is the capacity to learn and adapt yourself to the situation you have to solve. On the other hand, personal management I?s an important skill and here is the reason. Nowadays employers are not just looking for smart people, they are not just looking for barbarians that can be very good at what they do but they cant control their emotions, theyre now looking for people with a level of Emotional Intelligence, because they think Theres nothing to do with a guy that knows the whole process, but cannot accept a constructive critic so hats the reason the Personal Managem ent is one of the most important skills In a job. And finally we have teamwork skills. Its obvious you will not be away from civilization when you work. Its well known that you must interact with several people during your work hours, and you must know that getting along well with them its an important step for this skill. You must be patient, tolerant and last but not least, participative, because as a team you must take decisions together and respect others opinion. So, we can conclude that: Workers must be integral persons, with academically, personal, and teamwork skills, so they can get along well with their work partners and environment. We must not focus on having or enhancing just one of these skills, on the contrary we must work out the three of them, because the three of them are important. It doesnt matter we dont have the three of these skills, no one is born knowing everything, we can enhance a develop this, and many more skills.

Capstone Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words - 1
Capstone - Essay Example When promoting their products, they make extensive use of celebrities as product ambassadors, which lends to their products and hence their consumers a sense of glamour and makes the consumerââ¬â¢s feel like some part of the celebrityââ¬â¢s skills rub off on them with the product usage. Nike targetââ¬â¢s the common man who is interested in sports and fitness and banks on his skills and has a winning attitude. The brand also promotes hard work and competition and this is reflected through their promotional advertisements. Nikeââ¬â¢s vision is ââ¬Å"toà carry on the legacy of innovative thinking, whetherà to develop products that help athletes of every level of ability reach their potential, or to create business opportunities that set Nike apart from the competition and provide value for our shareholdersâ⬠. According to Nikeââ¬â¢s vision for the future, they keep introducing innovative products in the market. Like, recently, they are going to launch the Nike à ¢â¬Å"Studio Wrapâ⬠in 2013, which are fashionable ââ¬Ëbarely thereââ¬â¢ shoes, designed for people who are more into modern studio workouts like dance, Pilates and yoga. These shoes are the picture perfect mix of innovation, style and athletic requirements. Products like these by Nike help everyday and professional athletes the support and motivation to stick to a healthy lifestyle and to excel in their chosen field of sports. Nike products create additional value for its customers by adding style to the equation; all Nike products are aesthetically pleasing, yet high quality, innovative sportswear. 2. Analyze the five (5) forces of competition to determine how they impact the company. A big job to be done by the companyââ¬â¢s strategists is to deal with its competitors; however thatââ¬â¢s not all that their duties encompass. According to Portersââ¬â¢s theory there are four other forces that need to be taken into consideration. Following is a diagram outlining t he relationship between these five forces of competition. (Harvard Business Review Magazine, 2008) Originally published in 1979, Porterââ¬â¢s article talks about external forces that a company has to consider when planning competitive strategy. Namely, these include the bargaining power of producers, the bargaining power of consumers, indirect competition by substitute products, threat of new entrants due to barriers of entry and the rivalry between the existing players in the market in the specified category. (Harvard Business Review, Magazine, 2008). In Nikeââ¬â¢s specific case, the business is lucrative and highly profitable and thus new entrants are common. This would reduce market share and profit levels but Nike stays on top of its game due to its immense goodwill in the market, its reputation, product quality and innovative techniques. However strategists have to remain on their toes to make sure that the companyââ¬â¢s strategy doesnââ¬â¢t lag and allow new entran ts to gain on Nikeââ¬â¢s expense. This requires them to continually innovate product design, establish strong customer relationships and loyalty, invest in research and development, invest in employee training, improve distribution and most importantly patent their designs and products to protect them from competitors. Using these precautions will mostly eliminate the threat of new market entrants. Threat from substitutes is low, because Nike provides essential gear for athletes and sports men and women which cannot really be substituted by other product, especially in the shoe category. Other sports gear

ok I'm an "A" Plan brat myself. My dad's been there for 34 years now! : ) I got my fully loaded 2001 Twilight Blue ZTS, not including Advance-Trac or moonroof (DAMN IT!!!) for $15,000 plus tax, tags, extended warranty and the Protection package costs. Came out to around mid-16,000. I don't think I did too bad. That's with very questionable credit and a 9.8% interest rate and no downpayment. My first BRAND NEW car. hahahaha I think I did alright, though I know I got screwed on the final cost. Oh yeah, I got a 3 year lease too. I got the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty.2001 ZX3, 5-speed. Power package, premium package, moonroof. Listed for $15,200 and bought it for $13,900. $12,900 after the rebate. I've owned it for a month, have 1,600 miles, averaging about 29 mpg, with no probs! Love my ZX3 Mine was about $16,700 and I didn't have any money for a down payment. This was the S2 edition though which has the european tuned suspension, spoiler, and moonroof, it had the 6 disk in dash cd player also, but i took that out and put in my tv. I got my 2000 SE Sedan for $14,400. It had all options minus auto, ABS, side airbags, and leather. I really wanted the ABS and side airbags but wasn't going to wait to have one special ordered - I had already been to 5 dealerships that day and was pretty exited to find one so close to what I wanted. V, when dealing for the car, they are going to be playing tricks on you to make it seem like they can't go any lower. When they say "I have to go check this out with my manager", make it look like you are unconcerned and have all day - pull out your gameboy or palm pilot and start playing games. Make sure they know that you know what you are talking about, and that the car you are dealing for is a compromise, not the one car you have spent your whole life looking for. If the car has been on the lot for a while, then it's taking up valueable space and they need to get rid of it. If it just got on the lot, then if they sell it right away the holdback they get from Ford is pure profit. One other thing I found is that there is an airplane club up in Wisconsin or Minnesota or something that costs 20 or 30 bucks to join but members get X-Plan pricing from Ford.

Income Inequality Essay
Minimum Wage Income inequality in America has become a big issue, one that many of us hear every day; whether on the news or from our parents. But normally, we donââ¬â¢t hear the actual phrase used. We hear things like ââ¬Å"the top two percent,â⬠or, the ââ¬Å"rich vs. the poor.â⬠So, what is income inequality? Income inequality is defined as the difference between individuals or populations in the distribution of their assets, wealth, or income. So, with that in mind, why would anyone be against raising a minimum wage? At first glance, the plan does seem to be an intelligent fix to a problem thatââ¬â¢s stayed dormant for quite a while. Raising the minimum wage drastically from where it was in 2009 to now would be a blunt and possibly inefficient way of continuing to attempt to give the poor a better way of life. There is one simple fact that many people simply donââ¬â¢t look at: there are more than one group of people working for minimum wage. There is a myriad of people working for the federal 7.50, from teenagers on their first jobs to older people with second jobs. Jonathon Guryan, an economist at Northwestern University and a neutral observer of the wage debate, said that ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s not helping as many or as large a portion of the labor market as you probably would like.â⬠This being said, the workers that will benefit from a minimum wage increase would be so diverse that the group of people we are aiming to help, the poor and desperate, wouldnââ¬â¢t be getting all the help. Now, what of the small businesses and family companies that can hardly handle the current minimum wage? Well, theyââ¬â¢d be taking a hit too if a drastic increase such as this were to hit. Businesses that make less money than others in their profits per year are expected to have to cut down on their expenses and lay off their workforce in order to compensate for the loss of funds. So, while the minimum wage would benefit the people in the business lucky enough to not be laid off, those who were fired couldà be the very people we were attempting to help. Unfortunately, this could mean that a large part of the workforce that handles manual labor could be out of the job. Other businesses would not even be that lucky. There are much better ways to fight income inequality than just simply raising the federal minimum wage. Itââ¬â¢s a very black and white argument for a topic that is not so black and white. To better improve our income equality, and therefore lift people out of poverty, we could be putting more funding into things like education, food stamps and the Earned Income Tax Credit (or the EITC), which is a refundable tax credit targeting people who make a low income. It would be a shame to not only miss a chance to reduce poverty now, but to forget that weââ¬â¢ll all be having this same conversation in a few years if we just raise the minimum wage. That being said, I donââ¬â¢t believe the federal minimum wage should be raised to $10.00 per hour.

PETA Animal Rights Essay - 1844 Words
PETA: Animal Rights Doesnââ¬â¢t it kill you to see a movie and see an animal get killed or just hurt in it? Good thing thatââ¬â¢s all special effects. Back in the day, around 1966, movies didnââ¬â¢t always use special effects. Khartoum, a movie based on a holy war in the Sudan desert, directed by Basil Dearden and Eliot Elisofon, used horses a great deal, but did not use the special effects in order to not hurt the animals. Many horses died in the making of this movie, as well as others, even including a major hit, Ben-Hur. Today, there are many activist groups that fight for and about the unfair treatment and protection for animals in everyday life. The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is one of these groups. PETA was founded inâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦But, as PETA unmasked the cruel treatment of the monkeys and got involved in the case, it resulted as being the first arrest and the conviction of an animal experimenter in the United States with charges of cruelty to anima ls. It also was the first confiscation of abused laboratory animals, the monkeys, and the first United States Supreme Court victory for animals in laboratories (PETA: Official Page). PETA made a huge difference. PETA, though it does many things, has four main objectives. They focus on animal cruelty on factory farms, which are also known as confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs) and intensive livestock operations (ILOs). These farms are more worried about profits and high volumes of goods than they are about human health, safe food, the environment, fair treatment of animals, and the surrounding economy (Factory Farms). PETA also focuses on cruel treatment to animals in laboratories, in the fur trade, and in the entertainment industry (like Khartoum). They also work on projects helping birds, beavers, and abused backyard dogs, as some examples. To reach the public, PETA uses many tactics, including working ââ¬Å"through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement, and direct action.â⬠(PETA: Official Page).
